Be warned, for those of you who don't knit socks this post will hold little excitement and minimal interest. After a week of books and little else it's time for some sock therapy which is less fattening than chocolate.
Manna from Angel Yarns arrived in yesterday's post in the shape of an Addi 30cm long 4.5mm circular needle to comfortably accomodate socks in progress.
The Noro Silver Thaw sock transfer was made from 5 dpns in nano seconds.
and very quickly progressed to this.I have a feeling the wool will run out hence the Swaledale wool heel insert and if necessary toe piece, luckily I have pixie feet.
It's also the season (actually when isn't it?) to start accumulating next winter's sock material.I'm stuck in a colour warp but this Noro Silk Garden seemed essential
As did this hand painted, hand dyed Silkwood from Cnyttan
This has all been exacerbated by one phone call from the Village Show committee, they want the Women's Institute trophy back from last year's victory and suddenly I feel a little bit possessive about it and oh dear... unusually competitive to retain it.
This is a sure way to guarantee that whatever I make this year will go badly wrong and a large dose of hubris will be coming my way, life has that habit doesn't it?
Can you imagine if I'd written a book and was shortlisted for the Booker, life could get evil.
May the best socks win... as long as they're mine.
