The day has arrived and let battle commence, it's dahlias at dawn, the Village Show.
I'm head to head with The Tinker this year in the handicraft classes, he tells me I don't stand an earthly and looking at his exhibits this year he could be right.Photos from the battle front tomorrow with news of defeats or victories.
This is not my entry for this year but I do love the colours and time for a riotous overdose of it in fact. So here's another small wallhanging made from the Liberty Sample books and rather hastily and regrettably machine quilted. Speedily done and these pieces never have the same special feel of a hand quilted one, but then there was the vexed question of how long my eyes could focus on this at any one time.
I was clearly a bit flush with Liberty fabric as the backing is Tana Lawn.Every quilt or wallhanging is named and has its own label with date completed and my name and address stitched on the reverse as a provenance and perhaps to give some clues in a few centuries time when this turns up on a market stall on Mars.Inspired by a book we quite like here actually.
