This my demo piece for any Intermediate Classes that I teach. Back in
my colour comfort zone again and this one hand pieced and quilted.Made
at least 20 years ago using block designs from a very old but perfect
book called Patchwork Possibilities by Marjorie Puckett, long out of
print I suspect.
Tradition has it that you should never put Turkey Feet (middle left below) in any quilt that you make for a child or they will leave home, there was always a mad rush to get that one cut out and made up.
One 12" block (which I never made) had 135 seperate pieces.I had an eminent ENT surgeon doing one of my classes years ago who was one of the finest at microscopic surgery, he made it with ease.
We refused to thread his needle for him though.
