I'm a great one for notions.
Those essential needlework supplies and there's nothing I love more than rummaging through stacks of old ancient haberdashery.
Out of interest I was looking up the origin and meaning of the word 'haberdasher' and it seems to be a place where men's clothing was sold so I'm not quite sure how I now view it as a place to find sewing notions.
I have a few favoured places to rummage and we managed a couple recently.
Here's The Snug, my favourite shop in Ashburton.
Vintage clothes, fabrics, old 1930's curtains, cards of Newey hooks & eyes, wooden Sylko reels, old lace, buttons, haberdashery heaven. I could and do spend hours in here and it hardly seems fair to keep it to myself or to just give you tiny pictures which made you squint, so please enjoy a wander round the shop too.
