Accustomed as I am to driving miles and miles to get to a woolly event ... I mean these things are usually in Wales or Cockermouth or across the other side of the county, imagine my delight at discovering one almost on the doorstep,
A Woolly Weekend at Kelly House,Lifton
Kelly House recently featured in the Channel 4 TV programme "Country House Rescue"
Kelly House is a Grade I listed building and has stood overlooking the mists of Bodmin Moor since the 1740s. But years of neglect due to lack of funds mean that behind its crumbling façade lie walls plagued by dry rot, ceilings bowed by damp and a roof that desperately needs replacing. Having survived countless wars and family tragedies, the Kellys are facing perhaps their toughest challenge yet, saving Kelly House from total dereliction and finding a way to somehow keep it in the family.
I checked on google maps just to see and I have a massive 6 miles to travel and it will take me all of thirteen minutes to get there in the car. I'd walk but for the fact I might have to carry 'things' home.
