Ship in a bottle - Stromness Museum proved to be a treasure trove, more about it soon.

Orkney has the most wonderful library and you may recall I met the legendary tweeting Orkney librarian Stewart at the London Book Fair recently. 'Come and join the library when you are in Orkney,' he said...so I did.
The 6.30am ferry journey away from Stromness was a really emotional one, it's a very special place that creeps into your heart and nestles there...I understand that now. But we had a light-hearted moment about whether we might need the winch man to descend into his circle on the deck or not...the weather wasn't brilliant as you can see, but the Pentland Firth calm enough for us all to down a Full English breakfast en route.
A visit to Orkney wouldn't be complete without spotting some Celtic knotwork and recording it for future quilting use.
