Sorry that was a bit of an alarmist heading but read on...
For quite a while I've had a regular book exchange going with Ohio based blogger Ex Libris.
We've sent each other some of the books we trip over every day and the other is struggling to find.Often it's been about getting our hands on something sooner rather than wait for it to be published on our respective sides of the pond.Often I send lesser know writers like Elizabeth von Arnim and Elizabeth Taylor both a bit scarce in the US, in return I've received some lesser known Joyce Carol Oates and quite a few of my beloved Canadian writers. It's been a wonderful treat to receive the packages and a great way to share our love of reading.
We've just had an annual review of who we'd like to read next and we've made a shocking discovery, there is no Enid Blyton in Ohio and Ex Libris has never read any!
None anywhere, not to buy and nothing in the library catalogue to borrow.
Hurricane Enid is about to hit and Ex Libris is in for a treat, she's about to meet The Famous Five, Julian, Dick and Anne, George and Timmy the dog.
Then of course there's Malory Towers and Darrell, Sally and Gwendoline, what larks, I hardly know where to begin.
Poor Ex Libris, she may wish she'd kept very quiet.
