I wandered up the garden this afternoon to encourage Bookhound in his orchard-tidying endeavours whilst I had been dead-heading things that looked like they needed it .
En route it's impossible not to take in the acres of clear blue sky and wonder quite where this plane is off to... the USA perhaps, there's nowhere else after Cornwall, and so far up in the sky the plane seemed non existent but the new camera reveals there really was one.
I then did a double take thinking the holly was plastered in berries already and we'd better just have Christmas now, until close up I saw it was a mass of hawthorn berries...
and next to it the elderberries..
Some of our trees have finished fruiting, others are still laden...
But hark...the orchard, a paradise of dappled shade, would seem to be very quiet... I heareth not the snip of the shears..
Sensible Bookhound.
