It was a medium-length stride from the Fashion and Textile Museum and Kaffe Fassett's exhibition, past Guy's Hospital towards the station at London Bridge, and where directly opposite, whilst I might have missed the Shard, I couldn't miss Borough Market. One of London's oldest markets, historically selling fruit and vegetables but now a microcosm of specialist artisan food suppliers too, and perhaps another example of up-marketing in a previously run-down area of London.
From one palette of colour and patterns ...
to another...
...and from Kaffe Fassett's vegetable designs...
...to the real thing, and with little doubt in my mind that it was all art in its own right...
...and some it quite mouthwatering.
Piles of cheese, some of which came home with me for Bookhound...
and one of these for the Gamekeeper to crunch as he... well, as he goes deer stalking I suppose.
This next came as quite a surprise.
I have missed a very big trick, we have traipsed through acres of wild garlic this Spring... £1 per 50g, I am clearly as green as I am cabbage looking not to have set up stall somewhere.
