One last request at the end of Port Eliot intro week...
If you will be at the Festival don't forget to check out the Flower and Fodder show schedule...this is the first year for food entries, and the winning jam will be made and sold in Fortnum & Mason's in London so this could be your chance to be a jam star...or a pasty champ. Everything will be exhibited in the quad in front of the house so it promises to be a real draw.
I hope the tea cosies are going well...and it isn't too late to enter and have your work of art displayed at Fortnum & Mason in London prior to the charity auction.
I hear the dovegreyreader entries have started to arrive at Port Eliot and they have been beyond excited to receive them, and meanwhile, as if I haven't given you all enough to do, could you also be thinking about our Flower Show entry.
The judges this year will be Jasper Conran, Candida Lycett-Green and Kitty Arden so if they happen to have found their names here via google alert please could they move along quickly and go and look somewhere else....thank you.
Right...carrying on..
Our entry is more of an installation than anything else...usually completely over the top, and we try and incorporate as many of your suggestions as we can no matter how whacky... as you can see with our winning Sound of Music entry...
Flowers are the least of it where we are concerned, the fun is putting the things together, it's hilarious and of course it's the taking part that counts, not the winning (not much it isn't)
Fran H-B masterminds the whole thing with superb resourcefulness and imagination and assistance from other Team dgr members and this year I may actually have decent flowers in the garden to adorn our entry. I think we have decided that this will be the main class for our extravaganza entry this year and we have one or two ideas already but would welcome more suggestions...
MRS PEACOCK IN THE LIBRARY
An arrangement depicting a fictitious character.
24 inches by 24 inches. To be viewed from the front
and Fran may flaunt the oasis and the proper spiky things and enter this class for us too...
ONE LUMP OR TWO?
An arrangement in a tea pot for tea when the Vicar Calls.
12 inches by 12 inches. To be viewed from the front
So which fictitious character could we depict and how??
All suggestions very welcome in comments...and thank you, what would I do without you all.
