‘I’m excited that my work has been recognised at such a high level and I am really grateful to have shared the moment with Mawazi, Hajara, Braimu, Aramazan, Rahumani, Umaru, Haruniah, Media and David and look forward to to seeing them again in January.’
Please do go and see Night School full size (and the other exhibits) if you have the chance, it is a fantastic exhibition with some really thought-provoking pictures. Bookhound and I travelled up to London for the private viewing at the National Portrait Gallery on Tuesday evening and were completely overcome by the whole event, not to say bursting with pride etc.
I think the expressions of these two say it all...
WARNING: Shameless plug and please forgive the indulgence. I've never sold anything on here in twelve years and I feel a bit nervous about starting now, so please don't feel under any obligation.
The Kayaker is slowly building up his website www.tommyhatwell.com with a selection of some of his best images for sale from around the world including...
and New York
These can be ordered via the website in a variety of sizes and posted worldwide (some have just made it safely to Taiwan). They are printed to the highest quality and posted direct from Metro Imaging in London who have also printed Tommy's exhibition entries this year (he's made two other finals).
It's all a bit of a new venture ( because what use are wonderful images if trapped inside a computer) along with the production of a really stunning A4 calendar of thirteen great images which took an age to choose and includes Night School and also These Girls, which has pride of place on our kitchen wall and is much admired by all who visit.
The calendars can also be ordered at a cost of £16 each (plus postage) via the website
Lovely C*******s presents...
You can look forward to being transported somewhere amazing each month and I can guarantee that the pictures will bring joy to those 'Dentist 10am'... 'Worm the dogs' ...' Put the recycling out'... moments throughout the year. Plus at the end of the year you will have a sheaf of wonderful images on good quality paper to cut out and keep...use as bookmarks...send as cards (or it might just be me that does that)
Thank you for reading, and even if you don't want to buy anything please do go and have a look at the website, Tommy would love to know what you think.
