Hello Chums, it's me AGAIN...worn out I am, worn out. All this giving thing, honestly, where are the prize draw mice?? Or a Year's Supply of Pilchards??
But December is running away with us and I am told that Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without our annual gift from Picador of twelve prize draw copies of the new Christmas poem from the Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, and for 2017 it is Pablo Picasso’s Noel, illustrated by Léa Maupetit
'Christmas Eve in a small, sleepy town in the South of France. The streets are empty and calm – until, paintbrush and charcoals in hand, Pablo Picasso arrives with his dog. He is met with surprised delight wherever he goes, drawing the town and its merry inhabitants in their twilight celebrations.
Carol Ann Duffy’s new Christmas poem takes us into a magical evening full of artistic joys. Tender portraits of the many individuals that make a town into a community capture the togetherness that Christmas celebration can bring about.'
Those of you who have won one of these in the past will know that these are real treasures, one for every year of Carol Ann Duffy's Laureate-ship, and Picador very kindly send them worldwide to the winners, so please do leave a comment here to be in the prize draw, and we will turn this one around very quickly so that copies can get in the post before Christmas.
